Fun Fact – Fossil Friday

This Fossil Friday we have a claw comparison (with a quarter for scale) and few fun facts. From top to bottom: Utahraptor, Velociraptor, Bahariasaurus, and Megaraptor. Fun Fact 1: While Utahraptor, Velociraptor, and Megaraptor share similar names, the Velociraptor and Utahraptor are members of the Dromaeosauridae family, while the Megaraptor is not. Fun Fact 2: The raptors in Jurassic Park- although called Velociraptors- were closer in appearance and size to the larger Utahraptor. Fun Fact 3: The size of a Bahariasaurus is unknown, as the original fossils were destroyed during WWII.
